About

CoderDojo is a global movement of free, volunteer-led, community based programming clubs for young people. At a Dojo, young people between 7 and 17 can learn how to code, develop websites, apps, programs, games and explore technology in an informal and creative environment.

Just turn up with an idea of what sort of thing you want to build, be it a website or a robot, and we'll provide a supportive environment to help you make it happen. While they don't know everything, our mentors will do their best to help you with the tricky bits like "How do I make this alien explode?" and "How do I make this robot burp when I click on it?".

CoderDojo Ballymena meets in Ballymena Central Library from 10:30am to 12:30pm every other weekend during term time. To join in you'll need:

  • A tame parent who's happy to stay in the library with you
  • A library card (if you don't have one, get your parent to bring some ID and get one when you arrive)
  • Your own laptop (if you have one)
